How to join

Eligibility criteria for membership of the Disabled NHS Directors Network

Full members

1. Executive Directors (voting and non-voting) of NHS Trusts and NHS Foundation Trusts.
2. Non-Executive Directors of NHS Trusts and NHS Foundation Trusts.
3. Associate Non-Executive Directors of NHS Trusts and NHS Foundation Trusts.
4. Executive and Non-Executive Directors of Community Interest Companies/Public Sector Mutuals with the following characteristics:
   • founded in 2010 or subsequently to manage services to the NHS formerly provided by Primary Care Trusts;
   • eligible to join the NHS Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) scheme;
   • eligible to join the NHS Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) scheme;
5. Voting Board members of NHS Wholly Owned Subsidiary companies.
6. Board members of Integrated Care Boards and Place Partnership Boards (or equivalent).
7. Board members of NHS Arms Length Bodies

Associate members

• Individuals attending boards as part of programmes such as the NExT Director scheme designed to prepare them for appointment as non-executive directors of NHS bodies, for the duration of their placement with an NHS organisation under the programme.
• Former full members of the Disabled NHS Directors’ Network for a period of up to 12 months from their retirement from the appointment that qualified them for membership
